How the reading is calculated
Prices are collected per period for a fixed basket, each item against a fixed selling unit (olonka, mini paint container, sack, bag, litre), so month-on-month movement is comparable. Items marked 'reported' carry figures from the published October 2026 market price highlights. Items marked 'indicative' are placeholders that illustrate the basket while a verified price feed is being set up — treat their levels as illustrative and their direction as unconfirmed. Each reading is the median movement across its items; the median is used because a single collapsing staple (tomatoes fell 53%) would otherwise dominate a simple average.
Before you budget on these numbers
Prices vary by market, seller, quality and quantity. Figures are for orientation only and are not an offer, a valuation or an official price list. 15 of 21 items in this basket are
still indicative placeholders, labelled in the table above.
